About Us

MCNAHA HOUSE

McNaha House is a small private children’s home providing young people with an all year round stable and therapeutic living environment. We accommodate up to two male children between the ages of 9 to 18 with complex needs that may include autism, learning disability and trauma. The foundation of our work is based on the six principles that guide a trauma-informed approach:

  1. Safety
  2. Trustworthiness & transparency
  3. Peer support
  4. Collaboration & mutuality
  5. Empowerment & choice
  6. Cultural, historical & gender issues

As an organisation we believe in Aspire, Values, `individuality and Diverse (AVID).

Our Vision and Commitment

HONESTY, INTEGRITY, RESPECT

McNaha House aims to enhance the lives of children and young people by enabling them to make the most of outstanding learning opportunities within and beyond social care for children looked after; instilling an appreciation that there are no limits to what they can achieve, and developing the attributes needed to successfully shape and respond to the future. We promote honesty, integrity, tolerance and respect as well as an appreciation of individual and collective responsibility, and in this way we aim to bring out the very best in our young people.
